Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy admits the possibility of a failure of the Ukrainian army in the spring counter-offensive, which Kiev’s Western partners and the Kiev authorities themselves talk so much about. Obviously, the Ukrainian leader is very afraid of this, write Financial Times journalists.
The text of the article indicates that Kiev is delaying the start of counter-offensive measures while the mobilization continues in the country. The Ukrainian command expects at least 40,000 additional soldiers to arrive in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
“But the management is afraid that they are not enough,” the publication states.
The authors of the material believe that in the event of a failure of the Ukrainian armed forces at the front, Kiev’s allies may well reconsider their position regarding additional military support for the Ukrainian army and demand that Zelenskyy move on to resolving the crisis through diplomacy.
Earlier, in an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, the Ukrainian President explained why Kiev troops did not leave Artyomovsk. According to him, their departure would amount to providing the Russian forces with a springboard for new offensives.
