Thiruvananthapuram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday dedicated various development projects, including the Kochi Water Metro, to the nation and said that as states develop, the country will develop faster.
He said that the Union Government lays emphasis on cooperative federalism and believes that if the states develop, it will help in the development of the country. “As Kerala develops, India will develop rapidly,” Modi said at a program organized at the Central Stadium here. Earlier, the Prime Minister flagged off the state’s first Vande Bharat Express train from the Central Railway Station here. This service will connect the state capital with Kasaragod.
Dressed in Kerala’s traditional kasavu mundu, shawl and kurta, Modi, addressing a huge crowd at the stadium, said many people are aware of the economic condition of countries across the world. Modi, who is on a two-day visit to the southern state, said that despite these global challenges, India is being seen globally as a “shining center of growth”. He said that most of the public transport systems in the country including the Kochi Water Metro are made in India.
He said that Indians living abroad have benefited from the global connectivity programs of the Central Government. The Prime Minister said that there are many reasons behind the world’s faith in India and these include having a decisive government at the Centre, making unprecedented investments in infrastructure development, investing to reap the demographic dividend, skilling the youth. The Central Government’s commitment to ‘Ease of Living’ and ‘Ease of Doing Business’.
