In interviews with Qatari media, they emphasized the need to follow the instructions of the competent security authorities in avoiding answering calls from unknown sources, the need to immediately report any fake investment offers through communications or on social media, and not to exchange conversations with unknown callers, or to give accurate financial data to any caller without prior knowledge. . Every act of impersonation and impersonation of the electronic legal personality of companies and natural persons is a crime punishable by virtue of Law No. (14) of 2014 promulgating the Anti-Cybercrime Law, as Article 11 of it stipulates that it is punishable by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years, and a fine not exceeding (100,000) One hundred thousand riyals, or one of these two penalties, whoever commits one of the following acts: Uses the information network or any information technology means to impersonate the identity of a natural or legal person, and manages through the information network or one of the information technology means to seize it for himself or for others. On movable money, or on a document, or signing it, by fraud, or by taking a false name, or by impersonating an incorrect person. And in Article 13 it stipulates that whoever uses the information network or any information technology means to infringe or facilitate infringement by any means shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding (500,000) five hundred thousand riyals, or with one of these two penalties. Any image, on copyright or related rights, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, trade data, trade names, geographical indications, industrial designs or integrated circuit designs, protected in accordance with the law. He said: We have become living in a double world that combines the real world that we live in and the virtual world parallel to it on the Internet. The Cybercrime Law has surrounded all legally criminal acts that are considered an infringement of the moral and natural electronic personality, especially intellectual property and the trade name or electronic symbol used on the World Wide Web. . Anonymous calls for an unknown investment Lawyer Falah Al-Mutairi explained that there have been recent calls claiming to be from investment companies that lure victims to achieve quick profit and win attractive offers, adding that many of them intend to formalize his dealings via phone calls as a government employee, bank employee or An employee in a vital sector, however, in fact there are allegations of theft of personal and financial data. He warned against answering calls that attract victims with large investment profits and high financial ratios, and tries to lure anyone who creates a new bank account, deposits a bank deposit, or communicates with any bank or financial center by phone to ask about profits. He pointed out that the calls for investment offers are fake and deceptive and are not from documented sources, and target all ages, especially young people who do not know the correct mechanism for dealing with their money, and do not have sufficient experience in maintaining their financial accounts and investment desires. Lawyer Al-Mutairi pointed out the need for individuals to take caution and caution when dealing with calls for tempting offers, which are always spreading with occasions when individuals wish to buy gifts, souvenirs and entertainment materials. He stressed the importance of continuous communication with the competent security authorities. Ignorance of the law harms the victims. Attorney Ahmed El-Gamal explained that the crime of fraud is one of the most common crimes, due to the existence of devious methods that make it easier to convince the victims of the credibility of the work. It is widespread in work and study environments, in public places, and in friendship gatherings. He said: The danger of fraud and circumvention of the law lies in the fact that the victim does not know about it until a period after its occurrence, and he may be late in reporting it, adding that this type of crime is motivated by greed, quick profit, and ignorance of the law. Cautions that must be taken into account Attorney Khaled Al-Saour warned against interacting and communicating with electronic links that urge Internet users or social networking sites to achieve fictional and unexpected gains in foreign currencies, and also warned against following websites that promote unrealistic investment transactions that are contrary to the law. He urged the public, especially the youth, to refer to the official websites of the relevant governmental and financial agencies to follow up on all that is new, and to communicate directly by visiting bank branches and financial agencies to verify the offers offered, and not to underestimate the phone calls that come from unknown numbers and the need to report them and avoid answering strange numbers or listening in. For fraudsters when presenting their offers so as not to fall under the law.
