Islamabad. The death toll in Pakistan’s Kabal city police station has risen to 16 and the number of injured has risen to 50 in twin blasts on Monday. Local media gave this information on Tuesday.
Earlier, the media had reported that 12 people were killed and 40 were injured in the blast. Radio Pakistan, citing local officials, said the condition of eight of the injured was serious and one of them had been taken to the provincial capital Peshawar for treatment.
According to media, twin explosions rocked the Kabal police station on Monday evening, causing the building to collapse. Police said the blasts took place in an ammunition and mortar storage. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
