Putin called the main national idea of Russia the increase of its people
In his welcome message to the organizers, participants and guests of the conference Demographic Policy of Modern Russia: How to Achieve Contrary to Forecast Growth, Russian President Vladimir Putin shared his thoughts on Russia’s national idea.
According to Putin, the main national idea of the country was formulated at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by Dmitry Mendeleev. It is to multiply the people of Russia, the president said.
Putin expressed his belief that the scientific and valuable legacy of Mendeleev, “like the legacy of other outstanding patriots of the Fatherland, will serve to improve state policy in the field of demography.”
The Head of State hinted that the initiatives proposed by the conference participants would make it possible to increase the effectiveness of support measures for families with children.
Russia is choosing a path dictated by traditions and customs, while traditional and fundamental family values are openly destroyed in Western countries, Putin said.
