Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said the republic’s authorities would not allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to enter the country. When asked by the journalist to clarify whether the Russian leader could come to Chisinau, the head of government replied categorically: “No”, reports RIA Novosti.
Rechan previously said Moldova has compiled a “rather long” unpublished list of Russian officials who will not be able to enter the republic. At the same time, he declined to name the names of those who are part of it.
The Prime Minister added that Moldova would not tolerate attempts to interfere in its internal politics by Moscow.
“I assure you that none of those who were not supposed to enter the country entered it,” he said.
Recean clarified that he was talking not only about politicians and civil servants, but also about cultural figures who sometimes take part in election campaigns in Moldova. As an example, he named the Russian singer Philip Kirkorov.
Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that in her opinion, Russia will try to destabilize the situation in the country, as she does not want to allow its transformation. But that’s what the local authorities want, she said.
