British experts have said masks should be worn on public transport again to stop the spread of the highly contagious ‘Arcturus’ virus, according to the ‘Mirror’ newspaper.
And this variable is spreading all over the world, causing the re-enforcement of mask laws in India.
Arcturus is also on the rise in Australia now, with heads of UK health organizations watching it closely.
Expert warns.. Gags are necessary
Professor Stephen Griffin, chairman of the independent organization SAGE, said people should come back for regular checks and wear masks.
“It may feel like a step backwards, but the reality is that the virus continues to take its toll and those least able to cope continue to suffer,” Griffin told the Mail Online.
“In the absence of population-level mitigation…the focus remains on individual risks which are now considered, for many, to be much lower.”
“If (the government) does not act to allow everyone to ‘live’ with Covid, vulnerable people will continue to take precautions, including wearing masks.”
Global organizations are still keeping a close eye on the new variant as it has begun to impose its control over India, with fears of its global spread.
