The Shura Council participated in the work of the meetings of the permanent committees of the Arab Parliament, which were held today in preparation for the fourth plenary session of Parliament within the third session of the third legislative term, scheduled for tomorrow / Sunday / at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The permanent committees of the Arab Parliament include the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs and National Security, the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs, the Committee on Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs, and the Committee on Social, Educational and Cultural Affairs, Women and Youth.
During its meeting today, the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs discussed the economic conditions of the Arab world, following the current crises that have repercussed on the global economy as a whole and the Arab world in particular, as well as discussing the strengthening of aspects of Arab economic cooperation between Arab countries in light of the desired joint Arab economic integration, as it is a basic pillar for achieving people’s needs and welfare.
In turn, the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee discussed the situation, protection and promotion of human rights in the Arab world. It also discussed a guiding draft law on protecting privacy and combating electronic extortion in Arab countries, and a draft road map to confront child labor, in light of the Arab Parliament’s keenness to interact with issues. The Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs discussed the latest developments in the report on the social situation of the Arab countries, as the discussions focused on a draft adoption "Certificate of International Proficiency in the Arabic Language"In light of the interest of the Arab Parliament in the Arabic language, its promotion and advancement, given its decline and challenges aimed at distorting and weakening it in light of globalization, the spread of modern technology, and the dominance of other foreign languages.
