Tears became Khadija’s closest companion, after she left her home to escape death.

She and her children lived through moments of terror until they arrived safely in Wad Madani, after she lost family members in armed clashes in Khartoum.

As for Nima, her condition is no better, as the conditions she lived through are described as harsh, to say the least, before her displacement and her search for safety.

The hesitation lasted four days, then the decision was made to flee Khartoum after clashes intensified near them.

The stability of the security situation in the city of Wad Medani has largely eased the fear of young and old, but hearts remain attached to all other Sudanese cities.

The situation of this family, like thousands of others, has been displaced from Khartoum and left their homes, while hopes remain high for the end of the crisis and the return to normalcy.
