Jammu. An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Kandi area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning.
Police sources said a joint team of police, army and Central Reserve Police Force launched a cordon and search operation after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
He said the terrorists hiding there fired at the team of security forces, which was retaliated and an encounter ensued. “Two to three terrorists are estimated to be trapped at the encounter site,” the sources said.
Jammu zone’s Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh confirmed the encounter in Kandi area.
