Islamabad: Just a day after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the capital police on Wednesday arrested party general secretary Asad Umar from the same location. According to the Islamabad police, party general secretary Umar was on his way to the Supreme Court to challenge the arrest of party president Imran Khan when the police took him into custody on charges of damaging state property.

PTI leader and advocate Babar Awan claimed that Omar was arrested illegally and was granted protective bail by the Sindh High Court. Speaking to the media in Islamabad today, Advocate Awan said, “The SHC had clearly granted him protective bail and even he was out on bail in other cases. ,
