The deputy of the State Duma condemned the head of the city that the guests of the station were deprived of Victory Day

Alexander Khinshtein appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the administration of the Krasnodar Territory regarding the complaints of visitors to the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort.

Guests of the Marriott and Rixos hotels in Krasnaya Polyana turned to State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein: on May 9, there was practically no Victory Day symbolism. Vacationers said the administration of the hill station has banned the celebration of the 78th anniversary of Victory in order to maintain a “policy of neutrality” so that tourists with different positions can stay in the hotels. Alexander Khinshtein appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation with a request to deal with the situation in Sochi and the position of the city mayor Alexei Kopaygorodsky regarding May 9 – how far is the current situation complies with the standards of Russian legislation?

State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein was outraged at the lack of holiday symbols in hotels in Krasnaya Polyana, writing about it on May 10 on his Telegram channel.

For confirmation, the deputy posted videos and photos, from which it appears that there are no ribbons, flags, holiday banners and other symbols of St. George on Victory Day on the streets of the station, there is no music.

According to visitors to Rixos and Marriott hotels, there are also no festive decorations in the halls and rooms. And supposedly the administration of the hotels explained this with a “policy of neutrality”, since “people with different positions can live there”. The deputy said that guests of hotels in Krasnaya Polyana gave him an audio recording in which officials explained the ban on placing symbols in hotels by May 9 by a written order from the administration of Krasnaya Polyana Resort.

When citizens who were not indifferent to the fate of the big party filed a complaint with the town hall, they got away with the sentence that “the laying of flowers and the commemorative actions take place on the monuments of the ‘military history’.

Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Khinshtein.

  • It is surprising that the Sochi City Hall saw nothing wrong with what was happening. Looks like Krasnaya Polyana is no longer our land. In fact, Russian citizens were simply told how they should and should not behave on their own territory. The question of why the owners of the hotels, which canceled Victory Day on their territory, considered it acceptable to reach out to Russia, remains open, the deputy noted.

One of the messages from vacationers.

Alexander Khinshtein, said, “Such historical oversight needs to be addressed. Surgically!” The audio recording of the conversation with hotel managers, along with confirmation photos, videos and calls from citizens, was sent by the people’s choice to the governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev and to the Prosecutor General of Russia.

Mayor of Sochi Alexei Kopaygorodsky.

It is expected that the press service of the Mayor of Sochi, Alexei Kopaygorodsky, will not agree with the opinion of Alexander Khinshtein, stating that “station personnel participated in the laying of flowers at the Memorial of Fallen Soldiers at Aishkho Pass and Memorial of Dead Soldiers in Esto-Sadok Village. On May 9, in the cultural center “Amphitheater 960” of the Krasnaya Polyana resort, a screening of the film “Only old men go into battle” was organized for guests and employees of the resort.

In general, as Alexander Khinshtein wrote, “instead of dealing with the complaints of guests of Krasnaya Polyana about the absence of holiday symbols in hotels and on the streets of the resort town by May 9, the Sochi City Hall has decided to follow the classic bureaucratic path: “deny everything”:

According to the office of the mayor of Sochi, everything was normal with the holidays in the city.

“After my message on Telegram, messages began to circulate about how the Sochi authorities celebrated Victory Day. And today the press service of the mayor’s office even publicly engaged in a debate with me, stating that “the streets of Krasnaya Polyana were decorated with thematic installations” and “at the intersection of the streets of Labor Glory and Turchinsky , songs from the war years rang out all day long.”

Indeed, a surprisingly large number of materials immediately appeared on regional resources about how large-scale and vivid May 9 was celebrated in Sochi (and Krasnaya Polyana, too!) The vector of publications was set by the press service of Alexei Kopaygorodsky, stating that “about 100 events dedicated to the Great Victory Day took place in Sochi”.

Residents of Sochi said that in Adler it is no better than in Krasnaya Polyana.

However, commenting on the discussion between the mayor’s office and the deputy, local residents supported Hinshtein’s position. In particular, they reported that a similar situation in Krasnaya Polyana occurred on May 9 both in the territory of Sirius and in Adler, which is administratively part of Sochi: “There was not a single poster or Victory Day banner. Victory music was not played anywhere.

Perhaps, in the May 9 situation in Sochi, there is no “enemy ideology”, but Mayor Alexei Kopaygorodsky simply lacks elementary taste and understanding of a sense of proportion for the purpose of attract foreign tourists to the city.

And here is a group from the Krasnopolyanskaya administration of Sochi in VK: the last post was dated April 20 – the holiday in the minds of officials never came.

Moreover, it cannot be excluded that it is precisely such decisions that help the head of Sochi find a way out of difficult situations: not so long ago, Aleksey Kopaygorodsky marched bombers for 600,000 rubles. with a salary of 117.5 thousand, but did not explain the secret of a fashionable wardrobe with a modest income. Who knows, maybe the mayor’s ability to live entirely off his earnings and the VE Day “veto” are links in the same chain?
