The French side intends to equip several units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with dozens of armored vehicles at once, including AMX-10RC light wheeled tanks. This is stated in a joint statement by the Ukrainian and French leaders, drawn up following their meeting at the Elysee Palace, writes TASS.
“The military support given by France to the defense of Ukraine since the beginning of the war continues, and new supplies are prepared to constantly take into account the most urgent and urgent needs of Ukraine in the reinforcement of its defense capability,” the document said.
Made in France, the AMX-10RC is essentially a heavy armored vehicle often classified as a wheeled tank. It was produced from 1976 to 1994. In 2023, French President Emmanuel Macron announced his intention to transfer obsolete equipment to Kiev.
Earlier, the French leader announced the need to exclude confrontation between Europe and Russia. According to him, this is the only way to ensure the security of the European Union.
