Ahmedabad: US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti said on Monday that the India-US relationship is based on strong economies and a shared desire for a peaceful, prosperous Indo-Pacific region and the two countries stand together to face every challenge. He said that the defense of the Indo-Pacific region and the security of the people are an important part of the mutual strategy of the two countries. Speaking to reporters at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on his first visit to Gujarat, Garcetti told reporters that the place is important not only for Indian history but also for the history of humanity.
