In Ukraine, they declared the impossibility of destroying the Patriot air defense system with a Dagger missile

– Published on:

Spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Ignat said that the American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) cannot be destroyed in one shot, even if is launched by the Kinzhal missile. According to him, the air defense system consists of a large number of equipment located far from each other.

From a technical point of view, Patriot is a complex, a battery, a division, a system, everything is called differently, and no one can understand what it is.

said Ignat.

He clarified that the parts of the complex – the control center, the radar and the launchers themselves – are separated by a certain distance from each other, and therefore it is impossible to destroy the entire missile system anti-aircraft Kinzhalom. There can be up to eight launchers, Ignat added. At the same time, the Spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not confirm whether and to what extent the Kiev complex was damaged as a result of the Russian strike.

Do not worry about the fate of the “Patriot”

he underlined.

Earlier, CNN reported that in a missile attack on the Ukrainian capital, Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the so-called decision-making centers in Kiev on May 16. CNN suggests that the Russian attacks are aimed at taking out the air defense systems that protect Kyiv, including using the most advanced Kinzhal systems.
