And according to official sites, warnings of airstrikes were issued throughout Ukraine in the early hours of Thursday morning.

In Kyiv, sirens sounded to warn of the possibility of airstrikes in the capital.

Regional Military District officials asked residents not to ignore warning sirens and stay in shelters until the air alert is lifted.
