The Kremlin described the sad situation as arms control

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there were no serious contacts between Russia and the United States on arms control. According to him, the last vestiges of the legal framework escape you, the situation is sad and the responsibility lies with America.

“Time is shrinking like stingray leather, so the situation here is sad. And the responsibility for this sad situation lies entirely with Washington,” he told reporters.

The Russian President’s press secretary also stressed that the topic of arms control and strategic stability is extremely important not only for Moscow and Washington, but for the whole world.

Earlier, it was reported that a group of Republican senators had submitted a bill to Congress for consideration on America’s withdrawal from the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and the strengthening of the country’s nuclear forces.

In addition, it became known that the State Duma voted to denounce the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe.
