Clash on Iran-Pakistan border, 6 Iranian border guards killed

Tehran: Six Iranian border guards were killed in a clash with an unidentified armed group trying to enter Iran near the border with Pakistan. This information has been given in the report of the government TV on Sunday. According to the report, the clash took place in the city of Sarwan in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan, some 1,360 kilometers (850 miles) southeast of the capital Tehran. Unidentified assailants were also injured in the clash and fled from there, he added. However, detailed information about this incident has not been given.

According to TV reports, two Iranian border guards were also injured during the clash. After this attack, neither Iran has accused anyone nor any group has yet taken responsibility for it. The area where the clash took place is one of the least developed parts of Iran. Residents of this Sunni-majority area have long had bad relations with Shia Muslims.
