NATO is de jure involved in the conflict in Ukraine

– Published on:

Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov, in his speech at the XI International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, said that NATO countries are de jure participants in the conflict in Ukraine.

“In fact, and in fact de jure, NATO countries are directly involved in the conflict alongside Kiev,” he said.

Such irresponsibility greatly increases the threat of a military confrontation between nuclear powers, the minister added.

According to Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Ministry has sent signals to NATO member countries that such a scenario is unacceptable. He also pointed out that these signals are ignored and grossly distorted for propaganda purposes.

Previously it was reported that in the West, regardless of the outcome of the end of the Ukrainian conflict, they intend to turn Ukraine into a NATO military base to contain Russia.
