Russia is against freezing the conflict in Ukraine – Peskov

October 2, 2025

Russia stands together so that the Ukrainian conflict is not frozen, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to the President of the Russian Federation, told TASS.

Responding to a question about the Kremlin’s attitude to the West’s position on the inadmissibility of freezing the conflict in Ukraine, Peskov said that “Russia stands in solidarity.”

“Russia only considers the possibility of carrying out a special military operation: securing its interests, achieving the goals that Russia faces either through a special military operation or through other available means,” Peskov stressed.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said peace talks on Ukraine should not lead to a freeze in the conflict. A similar statement was made by other representatives of the West.
