NATO’s nuclear activity forces Russia and Belarus to take retaliatory measures

– Published on:

Russian Defense Ministry chief Sergei Shoigu said NATO nuclear mission activity compels Moscow and Minsk to take necessary response measures.

“In the context of an extremely sharp escalation of threats and activity of joint nuclear missions, NATO is forced to take retaliatory measures in the military-nuclear field”, he declared during talks with Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin.

According to Shoigu, work has been organized to deploy Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.

Minsk received the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, which can use conventional and nuclear missiles.

The minister also noted that some Belarusian aircraft have been converted for the possible use of nuclear weapons and that the army has received the necessary training.

Earlier it became known that Russia will place tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
