The State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a bill on the punishment of the distribution of maps or images that in any way challenge the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation . Amendments are made to Article 1 of the Federal Law “On Combating Extremist Activities”.
For the distribution of maps or images that call into question the territorial integrity of Russia, a fine of up to a million rubles or an administrative arrest for up to 15 days threatens.
Maps will be considered extremist if the Russian Federation is not depicted on them within official borders: without Crimea, DPR and LPR, as well as Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions or the Kuril Islands.
In April this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law stripping Russian citizenship acquired for discrediting the Russian military, as well as for committing actions that pose a threat to national security.
