Putin created the Order of Gagarin for his merits in the field of astronautics

On May 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented a new state award – the Order of Gagarin. The corresponding decree of the Head of State was published on Saturday, informed CASS.

As can be seen from the document, published on the official Internet portal of legal information, the order will be awarded for merit in astronautics, for example, for a successful flight of a manned spacecraft. In addition, the Order of Gagarin will be awarded for outstanding achievements in the training of scientists, engineers and other space industry specialists, for achievements in the development, production, testing and operation without problem of rocket and space technology, in the creation and implementation of new technologies, in research.

Another reason for awarding the prize may be merit in the implementation of state policy in the field of space, including in the interests of defense and security of the Russian Federation.

The last state award introduced in Russia was the medal “For Courage”, which Vladimir Putin established by his decree of March 23, 2023.
