Islamabad: The Pakistan government has canceled the diplomatic passports of nine leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The passports of PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Azam Swati, Parvez Khattak, Ali Amin Gandapur, Farooq Habib, Aun Abbas, Zartaj Gul and Ali Muhammad Khan have been revoked. In addition, the diplomatic passport of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, an ally of the Imran Khan-led party, has also been suspended. The government has launched a crackdown against the PTI by detaining several PTI leaders and supporters in connection with the violence and arson that broke out on May 9 after Khan’s arrest. Since then dozens of PTI leaders have quit the party and politics altogether.
