“In terms of information, the damage is enormous.” What military correspondents write about the drone attack on Moscow and the Moscow region

– Published on:

Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems shot down eight drones in the Moscow region on the morning of May 30, the Defense Ministry said. According to city authorities, several residential buildings were damaged, but residents were not seriously injured. The Commission of Inquiry conducts an investigation under the supervision of the Attorney General’s Office. What bloggers and military journalists write about the attack can be found in the Russian media magazine.

Journalist Andrei Medvedev :

“The UAV raid on Moscow was entirely predictable. But it seems that this time the Armed Forces of Ukraine hastily prepared it, literally cast it on the knee. <…> Does this seriously affect the course of the war? Absolutely not. <...> Even if 150 drones arrive at the same time, it will not affect the course of the war, nor the life of the city, nor the functioning of the urban transport systems, water supply and everything else. <...> But yeah, the enemy’s PR campaign went pretty well.

military channel “Fisherman” :

“In military terms, the attack solves practically nothing. But he decides in terms of public relations: it turned out to be an unpleasant snub, which will most likely be answered with another blow to Ukraine. »

military journalist Roman Saponkov :

“The media success of the drone attack on the Kremlin was stronger. First, it was the first time, and second, I flew to the center. Now a strong propaganda success did not bring. And as the drones crashed into Rublyovka and Barvikha, voices were heard asking them to repeat, but more carefully so as not to hurt ordinary people. <…>

But seriously, a sortie into the Belgorod region at the absolute top in terms of propaganda effect, then undermining the Crimean bridge and drowning the Moskva cruiser.

Homemade cardboard drones will soon cease to amaze.

Expert of the Boris Rozhin Military-Political Journalism Center:

“If you look at it as a whole, the air defense was able to shoot down most of the drones on the way to the capital and prevent the defeat of important military and infrastructure installations.

As a “hard response” to strikes against military infrastructure and, in particular, strikes against Kyiv, it turned out to be very slow <…>. However, it is quite obvious that the enemy will try to repeat such attacks, looking for vulnerabilities in our air defense system in different directions.

Voenkor Andrei Rudenko :

“The air defense did a great job, and the damage done to us is, in fact, nil. But, of course, in terms of information, the damage is enormous, since once again drones are flying towards Moscow, and kamikaze drones, and this is very bad.

Journalist Anastasia Kashevarova:

“And so it is clear that the drones will arrive, that they will bomb border areas, organize terrorist attacks. The problem is not panic. The problem is air security. <…> It is not necessary to say that everything is bad, and it is not necessary to say that everything is good.

Give people a real picture, start acting, talk honestly and openly with people.

And yes, the Red Line everyone is talking about is not an intimate hygiene gel.

Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov :

“They (Ukraine) hit Moscow with what they had. Of course it will get stronger over time. If they get long-range missiles, they will fire long-range missiles. <...> Judging by the fact that the drones are small, most likely the launch was carried out by Ukrainian agents somewhere in the territory of the Russian Federation. <…>

This is a propaganda gesture on their part. Of course, this could not bring serious military results, given the quantity and quality of the launched vehicles. <...> But from a propaganda point of view, everything is fine. They struck in Moscow, the population is alarmed, it is well thus.

Telegram channel “Two Majors”:

“Studying the comments on our channel, we noticed a lot of statements, they say, it’s good that they flew to the capital region. Like, that the capital feels a bit like the Donbass itself felt for many years <…>.

Probably, the meaning of the words of our readers is still not in empty jubilation, but in the hope that after the demonstrative actions of today’s enemy, processes will begin to activate bureaucrats and bring the country “to a normal battle”.

military channel “Older Than Edda” :

“Kyiv was hit much harder, but now Muscovites and guests of the capital must fully understand that the enemy can reach even Rublyovka.”

Military blog “Soldatskaya Pravda #KRP”:

“I think everyone has already understood that neither the border of the Russian Federation, nor the Moscow Ring Road, nor the Kremlin, nor even Rublyovka are red lines. They just don’t exist.”
