Fathers whose sons have shown courage in hostilities, including in the special operation zone, were awarded today in Moscow. The solemn ceremony took place in the State Duma.

When a coup took place in Kiev nine years ago and the war started in the Donbass, he repeatedly submitted a letter of resignation in order to volunteer to defend this land, and since 2015, he fulfills his duty there.
“I saw the Avenue of Angels in Donetsk, and only children were buried there, and he said: ‘Dad, only children are buried there, and if they are not completed there – the Nazis, Nazis in Ukraine – they will come here for us, and in Russian cities there will be alleys of angels,” said Nikolay Shtonda, Yevgeny’s father.
Yevhen Shtonda died in mid-April last year while liberating Mariupol. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. Everyone who gathered today in the small meeting hall of the State Duma had very similar stories about the wires. The official medal ceremony is over, but the human communication between these people is just beginning. They exchanged phone numbers, took pictures together, and today we can say that another very big family was born. Their sons are now also common.
Earlier, Shoigu presented the Golden Stars to commanders Mussagaleev and Matrenitsky, who distinguished themselves in the NVO zone. The military showed courage in defeating the superior forces of the enemy.
