During a special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces attacked a military facility near the Zhuliany airfield in Kyiv. The coordinator of the Nikolaev underground, Sergey Lebedev, referred to his comrades.

“It arrived in the city of Kyiv at a military facility near the Zhuliany airfield,” Lebedev said.

He added that travel towards the air harbor has long been closed to civilians. According to the underground worker, he regularly receives messages that “expensive cars with government and military license plates, accompanied by guards, are passing through the checkpoint.”

“Air defense forces are working in Kyiv region. Stay in your shelters! The missile danger continues,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, according to Reuters.

It was unclear if the explosion indicated air defenses had shot down a target. Public broadcaster Suspilne cited residents saying they had heard explosions in the western region of Khmelnytskyi.

On June 13, Sergei Lebedev reported that the Russian army launched a missile strike on a target in the Korabelny district of Nikolaev. According to him, after the defeat a column of acrid yellow smoke rose. The underground worker explained that this indicates a possible destruction of a warehouse with explosives, according to TASS.
