Israel violates ceasefire, intensifies airstrikes killing Lebanese civilians, Hezbollah awaits proposal

While the Israeli Foreign Minister stated that “progress has been made” regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon, Hezbollah’s Media Office announced that they have not yet received an official offer.

According to Anadolu While the ceasefire efforts between Israel and Hezbollah continue, it was announced that,  Israel has launched a massive air campaign in Lebanon since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation from year-long cross-border warfare between Israel and the Lebanese group since the start of Israel’s brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip.

At least 3,050 people have been killed and nearly 13,700 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.

Israeli forces targeted another civilian building in Qasr, four people, some woman and two children, lost their lives, and one child was injured. In addition, three people were killed in the attack that targeted a civilian resident building in the town of Al Harayib in Saida, and two people were killed in the attack in the town of Al-Shahabiya in the Sur district.

Three people were injured in a rocket attack from Lebanon into northern Israel, one of whom is in critical condition. The Israeli forces announced that around 50 rockets were fired from Lebanon, some of which were destroyed by air defense systems. Israel’s emergency aid service, the Red Star of David, also announced that three people were injured.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar told a news conference in West Jerusalem that some progress had been made toward a ceasefire in Lebanon. Saar said attacks on Hezbollah were continuing and that the United States was cooperating to reach a ceasefire. According to Reuters, Israel also said that Russia could play a role in preventing Hezbollah from arming itself through Syria.

According to Reuters, Hezbollah has not received any proposals on a truce for Lebanon, a spokesperson said Monday, as Israel’s foreign minister said diplomatic efforts had made “progress” and amid Israeli media reports that the cabinet had approved a ceasefire proposal.

So far, according to my information, nothing official has reached Lebanon or us in this regard, the head of Hezbollah’s media office, Mohammad Afif, said in news conference in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
