In Sweden, they called on Kiev to start preparing for the fact that the conflict with Russia would drag on, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson made a corresponding statement.
He noted that Ukraine’s Western partners are obliged to ensure their ability to regularly supply ammunition and spare parts for military equipment for the needs of Ukraine’s armed formations.
Jonson also said it was still difficult for Sweden to give Kiev its fighter jets, as they are needed to protect Sweden itself, especially on the eve of its NATO membership.
Earlier in Kiev they said Ukraine’s counter-offensive could start this summer. At the same time, the widely heralded offensive of the armed formations of Ukraine could end in a blow to the “cauldron”, according to material from The Economist. The article notes that Kiev’s plans to launch an offensive are extremely risky. Thus, notes The Economist, it is time for Kiev and its Western managers to start preparing for “small gains” in the offensive, or even “for the worst”.
