Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Crown Princes of Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi discuss developments in the region

The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, discussed, on Tuesday evening in the UAE, with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, developments in the region and bilateral relations.

This came, according to what was reported by the official news agencies in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, after bin Salman arrived in Abu Dhabi from Muscat, on the second leg of his Gulf tour of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which began on Monday evening, ahead of an upcoming summit of the leaders of the Council.

And the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the two crown princes discussed, at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, “the well-established brotherly relations, bilateral cooperation paths and promising opportunities for its development in various fields (…) and all regional and international issues of common interest.”

They also reviewed “the various aspects of strategic cooperation between the two countries,” and discussed “the importance of activating joint Gulf and Arab action and a number of regional and international issues and files of concern to the two countries.”

They stressed, “the need to work to consolidate the pillars of regional stability, which constitutes the main common base for development, construction, and progress,” according to “WAM.”

The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) also reported that the two crown princes held “a session of talks, during which they reviewed aspects of brotherly relations between the two countries and opportunities for partnership, and exchanged views on the latest developments in regional and international events and the efforts made in their regard.”

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi presented Mohammed bin Salman with the “Zayed Medal of the First Class, which is awarded to kings, presidents, and leaders of countries.”

This is the second medal awarded to the Saudi crown prince , after receiving the Oman Civil Order of the First Class, at the conclusion of his visit to Muscat to discuss strengthening cooperation and regional issues with the Omani Sultan, Haitham bin Tariq.

On Monday evening, the Saudi Crown Prince began a tour that includes meeting the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, before an upcoming Gulf summit in the Kingdom.

In 1981, this council was established, and it includes 6 countries: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the Sultanate of Oman.

The tour began the day after Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan delivered 5 written messages from the Saudi monarch to the leaders of Qatar, the Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman, during a Gulf tour on Sunday and Monday.

And the Kuwaiti and Qatari news agencies reported, on Sunday, that the two messages included an invitation to attend the Gulf summit later this December, without specifying a specific date, while Qatari media said that it is on the 14th of this month.
