Biden: I’m determined to ban semi-automatic weapons again

US President Joe Biden has stated that he is determined to ban semi-automatic weapons after the recent increase in gun violence in the country, Anadolu Agency (AA) reports .

Biden attended an event held at the White House regarding the Gun Regulation Act, which was passed by Congress after 30 years.

–  Guns are the number one killer of children in the US . More children are killed by guns than car accidents and cancer. In the last 20 years, the number of high school children killed as a result of an armed attack is greater than the number of policemen and soldiers killed on duty – said Biden.

The US President pointed out that gun sales measures should be expanded accordingly and that guns should not be sold to people with a record of domestic violence and said that guns should only be sold to people who can keep their guns in a safe place.

Reiterating that armed attacks must stop and that during the period of validity of the law banning semi-automatic weapons, the number of armed attacks decreased significantly, Biden added:

–  I am determined to ban semi-automatic weapons again.
