A strong earthquake hits Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the coast of Bengkulu in Indonesia today, the US Geological Survey (USGS) announced.

The earthquake had an epicenter 109 kilometers from Bengkulu and occurred at a depth of 50.7 kilometers, the USGS said, Reuters reported.

For now, there is no information about possible victims or caused material damage.
