This city is an important transport hub through which the Ukrainian armed forces supply their groups in the Donbass.Russia launched a special military operation on February 24, 2022. It aims at the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the main goal of the special operation was the release of residents of Donbass, who since 2014 have been suffering genocide and harassment by the Kiev regime.Earlier, media reported that with the help of artillery pieces, Russian Armed Forces soldiers tracked down Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and struck their positions in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) region.
