US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will travel to New York this week to attend a ministerial meeting of the UN Security Council marking the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Blinken will also meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres “to discuss the broad range of economic, security, and humanitarian support that the United States and other UN members continue to provide to Ukraine,” the State Department statement said.
“At the Security Council meeting, the Secretary of State will underscore the United States’ commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and call on the international community to support United Nations action to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the statement said. said.
