Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Germany’s ‘Left Party’ criticizes Scholz’s military rhetoric

March 3, 2023, 01:38 – Public Information Service – TEH – The leader of the Left Party parliamentary group in the Bundestag, Dietmar Bartsch, criticized the German government’s military rhetoric and called for the development of a European peace initiative.
Speaking in the Bundestag after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Bartsch said: “He who wants to end war is not a talker of peace, nor is he a Putinfersteer (in German : Putinversteher – one who understands Putin).”
The politician explained that those who are strictly opposed to sending German tanks to Ukraine are immediately called friends of Russia. According to him, the absence of the possibility of expressing different opinions seriously undermines German democracy.
He also stressed that the leaders calling for ceasefire negotiations are not “Putinfersteers”, they only want to end the Ukrainian conflict and prevent a possible nuclear escalation.

Among other things, Bartsch focused on the fact that many countries refrained from supplying tanks to the Kiev regime as part of the assistance, despite their requests to Berlin to supply this type of armament to Kiev.
He cited French leader Emmanuel Macron as an example and questioned whether he was, by that logic, a Putinfersteeer or a pacifist.
As the Public News Service reported earlier, US Undersecretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Celeste Wallander also said the US military does not currently have any M1 Abrams tanks to hand over to the regime. from Kiev.
