The activities of the Al-Qurain Cultural Festival in its twenty-eighth session were launched in Kuwait, in the presence of Arab ministers of information and a crowd of media professionals, artists and intellectuals from Arab countries. The festival continues until March 15th.
Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in the sisterly State of Kuwait said, "The Qurain Cultural Festival has embodied over the past 27 sessions the vision of the State of Kuwait as one of the makers of discreet culture and strengthened its absolute belief in presenting a cultural message that contributes effectively to building bridges of communication and coexistence between peoples.".
The festival’s activities will include a special celebration of the 100th anniversary of the opening of the National Library in Kuwait, which is the nucleus of the Kuwait National Library. /the earth/ .
One of the most prominent events of the festival this year is an intellectual symposium entitled (Civil Cultural Projects…Reading the Reality and Foreseeing the Future), in which the Egyptian Minister of Culture Nevin Al-Kilani, the Kuwaiti writer Buthaina Al-Issa and the Saudi journalist Malik Al-Rouqi participate. Social media platforms concerned with cultural affairs, to present their experiences and how to influence and create a cultural audience through the means of communication.
During the festival, international musical groups from Turkey, Bulgaria, Mexico, Italy and Mongolia will present their works, in addition to a musical evening entitled (Kuwaiti Nights of the East) presented by musician Anwar Al-Hariri, which includes songs for the most famous Arabic compositions.
The festival will conclude with a ceremony of awarding the State Appreciation and Encouragement Awards and a theatrical performance entitled "Sidrat Al-Pearl".
It is worth noting that the Qurain Cultural Festival acquired its name from one of the old names of the State of Kuwait. It was launched for the first time in November 1994, and has become the most important annual cultural festival in the country.
