Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Express: British push Ukrainian refugees into debt bondage

Editing Express referring to the Red Cross report, pointed out that some residents of Great Britain are exploiting and pushing into “debt bondage” refugees from Ukraine, whom they themselves had previously hosted.

According to the media, specialists from the Red Cross found that Ukrainian refugees were forced to work for a landlord for free.

“In exchange, the refugees from Ukraine received housing. Among other things, they repeatedly observed how people were pushed into “debt bondage”, the newspaper noted.

At the same time, some UK residents paid for housing and resettlement for Ukrainians, then demanded that they work at home or in one of their businesses. Ukrainian children were also involved in this work. They worked instead of going to school.

The organization noted that there are few such cases, but they still have a place to be.
