Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Publicist Hersh declined to comment on NYT post about Ukrainian Nord Stream saboteurs

This “act of terrorism” was “traditionally” reported to the publication by some US officials who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity. The NYT’s main conclusion is that “the new intelligence is the first known significant information about those responsible for the attack on the Nord Stream pipeline, which carried natural gas from Russia to Europe.”The sequel is even more predictable. US officials said they had no evidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or his top aides were involved in the operation, or that the perpetrators acted on instructions from Ukrainian government officials. Additionally, the NYT explains, “Ukrainian government and military intelligence officials say they had no part in the attack and do not know who carried it out.”In fact, reporters from one of the two largest and most influential American publications, known for its “sensational revelations of special services leaks”, and simply for its friendly relations with the American intelligence community, content themselves with “transfer arrows” from the CIA and the Kiev regime to a mythical structure that managed to reach the gas pipeline located at the bottom of the North Sea. She carried out sabotage at the highest professional level, which, by the way, requires months of preparation, a lot of analytical work and considerable material and physical costs. Of course, none of these same sources within the US administration told The New York Times how the “underwater saboteurs” acted, who they are, where they are roughly based and what they ultimately want.An op-ed by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, 85, published a month ago was a bowl of ice water for the White House and US intelligence agencies. It is unclear whether the intelligence community lost sight of the investigation into the beaten journalist, or simply thought that due to his age and the lack of channels to present the information, he would not dare publish it. Suddenly, the article by the patriarch of American journalism, which, by the way, also refers to “a source in the American administration”, had an impressive effect. Hersh on his website said US President Biden’s decision to destroy Nord Stream (“Nord Stream”) was made after more than nine months of highly classified discussions, explosives for the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines laid by American divers under the cover of NATO exercises, and activated by the Norwegians.
In its enormous material, supported by texture – a tribute to the traditions of classical journalism – the whole course of the preparations for the sabotage, in which analysts, special forces and high-level strategists were involved, is presented. As they say, facts and arguments, which contrasts sharply with the arguments in the article in the American edition. Here, for example, is an excerpt that tarnishes the acacia even further: “US officials have refused to disclose the nature of the intelligence, how it was obtained, or any details about the strength of the evidence it contains. that the operation could have been carried out unofficially by puppet forces linked to the Ukrainian government or its security services.”That the “sensational” NYT article is intended to deflect suspicion from Western intelligence agencies and the Kiev regime is also evidenced by one of its main messages: “The brazen attack on the gas pipelines that connect Russia to Western Europe has given rise to audiences from Moscow to Kiev and from London to Washington, and remains one of the most serious unsolved mysteries from a year ago.An attempt to identify the “saboteurs” does not lead to proof of the article’s main message, with reporters paragraph by paragraph referring to officials who thereby “disagree on the importance to be given to new information”. However, NYT reporters are forced to admit that “any suggestion of Ukraine’s involvement, whether direct or indirect, could disrupt the difficult relationship between Ukraine and Germany, undermining public support. German, who swallowed high energy prices in the name of solidarity”. “Seymour Hersh himself, speaking with RIA Novosti, laughed, talking about the NYT post and declined to comment on it. Meanwhile, Izvestia has announced that it will release a new Nord Stream survey next week.
