Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin commented at a press conference on the capture of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) by Wagner PMC fighters. According to the US military, the success of the Russian army will not necessarily lead to victory, the Ukrainian armed forces are able to counterattack.

Regarding the Wagner PMC, the head of the Pentagon had a special opinion. Lloyd Austin noted that in terms of effectiveness, the Prigozhin attack aircraft groupings exceed the readiness of the RF armed forces. However, the method of recruiting fighters from prisons somewhat confused the American politician.

“At the same time, their methods are really interesting, frankly, unthinkable,” Austin pointed out.

The head of the US Department of Defense particularly noticed the consistency and clarity in the fights of the “musicians”. Austin said America has yet to see the exemplary actions of the RF Armed Forces on a large scale.

Earlier, Yevgeny Prigozhin said that in February 2023 alone, Wagner’s PMCs destroyed 11,000 AFU soldiers in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . So, Prigozhin commented on the words of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
