The Palestinian Foreign Minister briefs the Chinese envoy on the occupation’s crimes

March 11, 2023

Today, the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Riyad Al-Malki, briefed Zhai Jun, the Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East, on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, and the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers against defenseless Palestinian citizens.

Al-Maliki referred to the crimes of the occupation in light of the presence of the current fascist and racist Israeli government, which does not recognize the rights of the Palestinian people, especially the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state, which reflects the absence of any real Israeli partner for peace, and the closure of the political horizon.

He stressed the importance of finding practical mechanisms for peace opportunities in the region in the absence of the Israeli partner, and providing international protection for the Palestinian people.

In turn, the Chinese envoy affirmed his country’s firm position to support the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and protect their legitimate rights, especially the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

He affirmed China’s rejection of Israeli settlement in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which undermines the establishment of a viable and contiguous state, and the rejection of any Israeli measures to change the legal and historical status quo in East Jerusalem.
