Hamad Hospital in Gaza provides 173,000 services for people with disabilities during the year 2022

His Highness Sheikh Hamad Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics in Gaza, funded by the Qatar Fund for Development, announced that it will provide 173,000 services to more than 9,000 beneficiaries with various disabilities during the year 2022.

The hospital was able to alleviate the suffering of more than 9,000 beneficiaries with disabilities by providing 173,000 services provided to them during the year 2022.".

For his part, the Director General of Hamad Hospital, A. Noureddine Salah said that the hospital sought during the year 2022, and to ensure the continuity of service to rights holders of persons with disabilities in an ideal manner and in accordance with international standards and by using the latest devices and equipment, the limbs department provided during the past year 2022 – 173 lower limbs – 96 upper limbs – 318 peripheral devices And 52 chiropractic devices.

Noureddine Salah, the hospital has saved more than 61 children from hearing impairment by conducting cochlear implantation operations funded by the Qatari Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, bringing the total to 284 cochlear implantation operations since 2017, and provided 8,400 auditory verbal rehabilitation sessions for cochlear implants and stethoscope users and hearing aids for what More than 1400 beneficiaries.

And Salah indicated that the Rehabilitation Department, through the overnight service, the day service, the external service and its specialized quality clinics, was able to provide its services to more than 5,500 beneficiaries, with 70,000 services and rehabilitation sessions through physiotherapy units, occupational therapy, children’s rehabilitation, speech and swallowing, clinical nutrition, and support. social psycho.

Regarding the most important agreements and partnerships to ensure the achievement of complementarity in the work, Salah explained that 13 memorandums of mutual understanding were signed during the year 2022 with the partners of the mission with the aim of facilitating the arrival of services to those who deserve them at the right time and place, and the most prominent agreements signed are with the Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Charity, Al-Azhar University, Doctors Without Borders – Belgium, the Ministries of Health and Finance, and the municipalities of Khan Yunis, Jabalia and Gaza.

Salah pointed out that the hospital, with the aim of reducing hearing impairment, as well as spreading awareness and health education about hearing problems, launched a campaign "Your hearing is fine" Which contributed to reaching tens of thousands of beneficiaries and providing them with appropriate services in a decent manner.

He stressed that the hospital works with all parties and institutions to harness all capabilities and provide medical services that serve patients and people with disabilities in the Gaza Strip.
