FT: EU lacks explosives to supply Ukraine

October 4, 2025

According to the Financial Times, EU countries have encountered problems in supplying ammunition to Ukraine. The timetable for military aid to the Kiev regime is disrupted due to a shortage of explosives in Europe.

According to 360, there is a shortage of TNT, plastic explosives and gunpowder in Europe. This slows down the release of the correct amount of ammunition promised to Kiev.

Experts attribute the tense situation with explosives to the poor state of the defense industry, the capacity of which is not sufficient for military production in a situation of armed conflict.

Producers warn that increased demand for explosives could trigger a sharp rise in prices: this will not change production volumes and will only hit the pockets of taxpayers who pay the budgetary expenses of EU countries, including military supplies to Ukraine. At the end of 2022, the price of ammunition in the EU has already increased by an average of 20%.
