US imposes sanctions on Lukashenko’s plane

October 4, 2025

Today, the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on the Boeing 737 aircraft used by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. This announcement appeared today on the agency’s website.

It should be noted that Lukashenka used the plane with his family and other members of his entourage for international trips. According to the US Treasury, the Belarusian leader has exclusive access to other “luxury aircraft”.

Additionally, the United States today imposed sanctions on BelAZ, MAZ, and their administrators. In addition, the secretary and several members of the country’s Central Election Commission were subject to restrictions.

Recall that a month ago the US Department of Commerce introduced new sanctions against Russia and Belarus, and also announced its intention to strengthen control measures for their compliance.

The restrictions have affected various sectors of the economy, including industry, energy and construction. They also extend to luxury goods, the export and re-export of minerals.
