The hero of Russia, the commander of the airborne assault battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Lissitzky, has died. About it in my telegram channel writing Head of the Blagodarnensky district of the Stavropol Territory Alexander Tenkov.
Acting Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Sitnikov informed that Lissitzky died in battle.
However, the Baza telegram channel writing that Lissitzky’s body was found in his apartment in Stavropol on the morning of March 26. According to the publication, it was a suicide. There is no confirmation of this information.
Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Bututov reported on his Telegram channel that Lissitzky was “liquidated” by Ukrainian armed forces, allegedly in retaliation for the deaths of Ukrainian servicemen in Ilovaisk in 2014.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not officially commented on Lissitzky’s death.
Dmitry Lissitzky was the commander of the 2nd Airborne Assault Battalion of the 247th Special Cossack Airborne Assault Regiment. He also participated in military campaigns in Abkhazia, Syria, Chechnya, Yugoslavia and a special operation in Ukraine. He was awarded the title of Hero of Russia in 2015, and also received the medal “For services to the Fatherland” of the second degree.
