Belgorod citizen faces jail time for driving with fake driver’s license

A 52-year-old resident of Stroitel, Belgorod region became the defendant in a criminal case involving the use of false documents. He can go to jail for up to a year.

The press service of the regional Interior Ministry said that traffic inspectors stopped the “Bogdan” car in the village of Severny. The driver’s license, which the citizen of Belgorod showed, seemed to the police to be a fake. Therefore, the investigative-operational group arrived on the scene. The driver was removed from driving and the rights were confiscated and sent for review. The investigation confirmed that the document was false.

District commissioners discovered that the man had obtained a driver’s license from a foreigner. He gave her copies of documents and photos to make them.

A criminal case was opened against the motorist under Part 3 of Art. 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“use of a knowingly falsified official document”). The penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to one year, the press service of the regional interior ministry reported.
