The municipality closes a restaurant in Al Sheehaniya for violating the Human Food Control Law

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Municipality announced the complete closure of a food establishment in Al Sheehaniya for a period of five days.

The ministry said in a tweet via its official account on Twitter, that the municipality of Al-Sheehaniya issued an administrative decision to close "Guests Restaurant" for a period of 5 days, in violation of Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control.

The municipality called for the need to contact the unified call center on phone No. 184 to report any food violations.

According to the Ministry of Municipality’s website, determining the duration of the closure is up to the discretion of the competent municipal director according to the type and gravity of the violation as determined by the law, provided that the period of closure does not exceed 60 days at a time, and the closures multiply by repeating the violations. It is also prohibited to open a closed shop, to start an activity, or to do maintenance. Throughout the closure period, violating this will result in criminal liability.
