“We received about 100,000 rubles.” What is known about the wives of Nizhny Tagil, suspected of spying for Ukraine

Additionally, the publication discovered that his wife Valeria M. (name changed) is 23 years old. As the newspaper notes, she handed over copies of secret drawings to representatives of Ukraine. For this, she received about 100,000 rubles.

On April 4, the FSB announced the arrest of a married couple in Nizhny Tagil, who engaged in espionage “in connection with one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex” on the Kiev side. In the company, they allegedly obtained drawings, namely “information of a military-technical nature”, which can be used against the Russian army in the context of a military conflict with Ukraine, the secret service claimed .

TagilCity, citing a source, clarifies that the spouses were detained at the end of March 2023 in the Altai microdistrict in Nizhny Tagil, where they lived. According to the FSB, searches were carried out in their apartment, and “objects of espionage activities” were seized there. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the two detainees under the article on high treason (article 275), the spouses are under arrest, the special service noted.

On March 28, a military officer from the Rostov region, Ilya Trachuk, was charged with treason and illegally obtaining data that is a state secret (part 2 of article 283.1 of the Criminal Code). On March 30, Evan Gershkovich, correspondent for the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, was arrested in Yekaterinburg on suspicion of espionage. Subsequently, he was taken to Moscow, the court sent him to a remand center. Security officials believe that Gershkovich, on instructions from the United States, “collected information constituting a state secret”, namely that he collected data on the work of one of the enterprises of the military complex -Russian industrialist. On April 3, a woman named Oksana Fedorova was arrested in Moscow on suspicion of spying. The suspect’s details, including citizenship, are not being released and there are no other details of the case.
