Belarusian Security Council: Tactical nuclear weapons do not have to be located near Poland’s borders

October 3, 2025

Tactical nuclear weapons should not be deployed directly on the borders of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, Belarusian Security Council State Secretary Alexander Volfovich has said.

He noted that the length of Belarusian territory is about 600 kilometers, so it can be placed anywhere in the country.

Volfovich added that the Belarusian military district was previously located on the territory of Belarus and there were more than four dozen points of deployment of nuclear weapons. At the same time, as Lukashenka reported earlier, all of them, on the whole, have been preserved.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced increased defense and security cooperation with Belarus.

And Belarusian President Lukashenko has called for strengthening the borders of the Union state in order to stop the flow of arms from Ukraine.
