Putin tasked with organizing World Youth Festival in 2024

The World Youth Festival will be held in Russia in February-March 2024. The decree on its holding was signed by Vladimir Putin.

The president approved the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kirienko, as chairman of the festival’s organizing committee. This structure included Deputy Prime Ministers Tatyana Golikova, Dmitry Chernyshenko, head of Rosmolodezh Ksenia Razuvaeva.

The Council of Ministers must, within three months, determine the sources of funding for the festival and work out measures for its preparation and holding.

The last time the World Festival of Youth and Students was held in Russia in 2017 in Sochi. This event was most actively organized in different countries during the Cold War. In the USSR, the festival was held in 1957 and 1985.
