Today, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Lebanon will submit a complaint to the United Nations Security Council, regarding the Israeli attack that targeted its lands at dawn today.
The ministry said, in a statement, that Abdullah Bou Habib, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government, instructed the permanent mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York to submit an official complaint to the UN Security Council after the Israeli bombing that targeted areas in southern Lebanon.
The statement added that the Israeli bombing constitutes a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a violation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701, and threatens the stability that southern Lebanon enjoyed.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry statement stated that the decision on the complaint was taken after consultation with Mr. Najib Mikati, the caretaker prime minister. The Israeli occupation army announced at dawn today that it had targeted two sites in the city of Tyre, south of Lebanon, with six missiles.
Lebanese sources also stated that the Israeli occupation artillery bombed an open area between the Rashidieh camp and the Ras al-Ain-Maaliyah plain near the coastal road leading to Naqoura with three artillery shells.
